Good Morning, God!
Yesterday, driving home from church I saw this Gold Tree against a bright blue sky and stopped. I had seen it before, but against a grey sky. There is something about the bright gold and the brilliant blue that cheered me. Thank You, God, for all the glorious colors of our World.
I must confess I have been taking the shooting of Congresswoman Gifford personally. It has taken a while, but I am so aware of MY NEED to REPENT! I like to think of myself as open-minded and respectful. I’m pretty sure ALL of us like to think of ourselves that way. But, I have a lot of Judging going on inside of me. Sheesh! There was a TORRENT of it pouring out after the shooting. I was CAUGHT UP IN BLAMING! ASKING WHO DID THIS.
Years ago, God, I learned that in stressful situations humans almost always ask “WHO” QUESTIONS — as in WHO’S TO BLAME HERE! What we really need to be asking are “WHAT” QUESTIONS — as in WHAT went wrong and WHAT can we do about it?
What I am doing is working on my personal repentance! I remember Rev. Dan Chun saying that he has learned to say to himself, “I think I’m right, but I might be wrong.” Wow, God! I think I need to post that on my mirror. I COULD BE WRONG!
Sigh, it is when we are ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN THAT WE ARE RIGHT that we are tempted to do bad things to reach THE RIGHT goals. I never really thought about Uncertainty and Humility as important values. Hmmm. Please, God, I need Your help.
Margie, I know and understand your distress…you are not the only one. Who could not be mad and saddened by this event, as well as the negative words of others trying to capitralize on the occurrence. But to add to this, and what I have found heartening, however, was that there were people who jumped in and stopped him before he did any more damage. Think of the people who took action, her intern, for example, he saved her life. The surgeons who saved her, as I am trying to be mindful that it might mean that there is hope for us, after all. We pray for our enemies, for sure, and look for the good that transpired at this event. And thank God for those heroes who took action, thus preventing further tragedies.
I think all Americans are responsible Our leaders have started wars over and over again. What can I do about it. God, I wish I knew something. As we hear again about Desert Storm I feel so upset on the inside.
I live in a small world were I am mostly out of touch with the world outside Arcadia. I am taken care of and love to give. However, what I do does not even tough the people that need it most. I am so sorry, God. So very sorry.
I hope, in the end, the world art history site will bring joy to some people as they get to know the amazing art that was done in their countries. That will not stop the killing, the sale of awful guns.
Please forgive us who know what is happening, assist those who can stop the drones that fly over them. I do go on. Thank you
