Good Morning, God!
This photo of the Pali was taken from the Stairway to Heaven above Kaneohe. Over 4,500 steps — almost straight UP. Yesterday I walked DOWN 11 floors and it was fairly easy. I can’t imagine walking UP 4,500 steps!
But, of course, I AM. If each day were a STAIR, I would be well PAST that number. Ah, PERSPECTIVE! The views from the physical stairway are glorious! Hmm. On a Clear Day, you can see a long, long way. But, on a rainy day, you can see just a few feet.
I suppose, God, that is true of my Stairway in Time, too. There are days when I feel I can see so clearly. And other days when I can’t. Did YOU just ask me if I was stopping to LOOK?
Gosh, God, You are RIGHT. I am busy with the CLIMB. I am RUSHING! Now I am pondering the purpose of these stairs. Apparently they were built — during World War II — to erect and maintain an antenna to make it possible to communicate with our submarines.
Makes me think, God, that perhaps OUR CLIMB is about COMMUNICATIONS, too. I was just saying to Kit that I love all the people in our lives. Our family member — and those who are part of our Family of Friends. Ahaa, YES, and then there is YOU! You, Our Unseen Creator, in whom we live and move and have our being. Calling us to LOVE, as You Love US.
So, please, God, help me today to pause on my climb. Help me to LOOK, and LISTEN — to You, to myself, and to those around me.
