Good Day, God!
My mental maps have been buffeted over the last few months and then yesterday we got the video from our senior pastor that he was resigning due to burn out. Sigh. . .
But, talking . . . being heard . . . helps! I just finished a conversation with a good friend about our pastor’s resignation. Afterwards, I felt more balanced — more centered. And I had the idea that we all need opportunities to talk and regroup. I was sent a great quote this morning: “A good listener is one who helps us overhear ourselves.” (Poet Yahia Lababidi)
So, God, we talk. We listen. We pray. All good . . . all helpful.
But we can also REFOCUS. This photo, taken while we were picking up food in a market yesterday, moved me OUT of my upheavals and into awe. BEAUTY does that. Especially unexpected beauty.
A dear friend is virtually touring our world’s museums. What a great way to “take care” of herself. And as I go out on walks with my wonderful husband, Kit, I look for the flowers, the mountains and the fig tree. Beauty does feed our souls. Thank You.
Thursday night in bed and just now seeing this…David Rivers is leaving??!!…Noooo! I’m so very sad if that’s true. Love and. Prayers, MLee
