Good Afternoon, God!
I wrote this blog in the 20 minute break at the Morning of Centering Prayer. It felt urgent, God. I’m beginning to understand that Blessing folks strengthens all that is good in them. That is why You tell us: BLESS, BLESS and do not curse. (I guess that cursing might strengthen the not so good parts.)
That’s why I am urging us ALL to Bless Trump , Pence and especially all those behind them who orchestrated this win — including Vladimir Putin. BLESS THEM!
At the same time let us be busy reminding each other that All that is needed for evil to Triumph is for good men and women to do nothing OUT OF THE ORDINARY!
I added those 4 last words to Burke’s chilling phrase. Because, acting out of the ordinary is exactly what is so hard for us humans. To act, other than what is expected, is to assume the burden of responsibility. And, as I write this, I am thinking, God, of the Electors who will vote this Monday for the next President of the United States of America.
May You guide them and guard them. Let’s all PRAY as well as BLESS.
