Good Morning, God!
This photo of the Blow Hole from the west end of Sandy Beach was taken a bit after sunrise. There were a few surfers out and I was enjoying a latte and a little prayer.
Now, here is the same area enlarged! No longer the serene scene. Now it surges with energy. What we focus on makes all the difference.
We live in SUCH A BIG WORLD, God! And it looks so different to each one of us — and a lot of that depends on direction we are looking . . . and what we are zooming in on. Somehow, we don’t seem to take that into account when we “discuss” things. What direction am I looking? Where am I standing? That’s about spatial differences.
Then there are TIME differences. How do we process TIME? I was listening to SuperFreakanomics and hearing all about how poorly designed our Emergency Rooms are for a REAL emergency. Dang. But, of course, I understand why. It is so easy to think that if something is unlikely to happen — it won’t happen. People who talk about Dark Eventualities are called Paranoid. Why pay more to plan ahead — for something that might not happen?
Now I’m thinking, God, of my grandfather shaking his head at the people in Southern California who built in Arroyo Secos (dry riverbeds). True, they were dry for 49 out of 50 years. But there was ALWAYS that 50th year. And then I remember, in Honolulu, where we had a hundred year storm — followed a few years later by a 200 year storm. Hmmm.
Don’t live on the Edge? Keep MARGINS? Aaah. The Sabbath is to my body and being — the way automatic saving is to my bank account! Yes, God, yes. I need Your Help!
I hope you are thinking about writing another book; your blogs give me chills (in a good way) and shake me to my core, my soul. Tears in the eyes type of stuff. No crying, just misty eyed and mystified…so..Margie PLEASE Don’t stop, the world needs you to do this. God, Ivana and Helga (you know them well) told me to tell you this, lol
