Ah, God. You have made us with a Praise Stop, and a Rejoicing Stop, a Grateful Stop and many more stops. Those Stops add a Rich Emotional Layer to ordinary “notes” or decisions. And, it seems to me that we designed to use those Trusting Positive Grateful Stops.
I longed to be able to send it to these children! I wanted to help — or maybe it would be better to say that I wanted to give myself the gift of being part of all of this.
One of the great gifts of living in Hawaii is that all of us are Between Cultures. There is a sense of being part of a “culture” constantly being assembled and reassembled depending on the constraints and opportunities of the moment.
The music becomes richer and full of assurance. Not, alas, assurance that we will get what we want. But, assurance that we matter and that we are loved.
Sigh. How easy it is to forget that Love is both the Beginning and the End of everything.
But back to the Easter Eggs and Christmas Trees and other Celebratory Things we borrowed from the Old Ones. Such images and icons communicate to us so viscerally, God!
Ah, yes. There is our “assignment” — to be so full of hope that we are asked about the reason for it.
