Designed to Bloom

Good Day, God! I just reread Jimmy Carter’s essay on why he left the Souther Baptist Church over its theological position on the inequality of women. Wow, God! I am still totally amazed at how much evil is done in Your Name! Mostly,

The Open Doors of 2015

Dr. Dweck stresses the importance of Hard Work in mastery as opposed to resting on Fixed Intelligence. I loved the IDEA of Hard Work. I just haven’t applied it to my every day life.

A Thermal Image of Myself?

I really want to take care of myself. But I feel as if I was absent when “they” taught Emotional Hygiene. Sigh, does anyone teach that? You say it is mentioned in the Bible — You call it speaking the Truth in Love. Hm. I just never thought about speaking the truth in love to myself! That sounds so obvious.

My Husband, the Role Model

We ALL need good role models, God! We need people we can admire and learn from. Ah, but that takes being ready. I am just beginning to learn the essential nature of daily floor exercises from my friends. I’m ashamed of being so SLOW!.

Hidden Doorways — Waiting . . .

In a way, God, we all live in “Gated Communities” where we live lives voluntarily constrained and limited. If we were contained by the Ten Commandments and the Golden Rule that might be one thing. The long slow work of becoming fully me

It is quire humbling, God, to realize that I have resisted their help all these years! I’d labeled my Warrior Sprit as a fierce and angry part of myself and did my best to wall her off. That just made her angrier.

My Dysfunctional Illusion of Fearlessness

Ah, but to be able to help myself, I first had to let go of the illusion of fearlessness!

Early Morning Light and Hope

Good Morning, God! A new day is still an hour away. I am sitting in the stillness and silence and pondering Your Gift of A NEW DAY! New is a lovely word. Yesterday, I was looking at the pre-holiday clutter

Blooming — Where ever we are

Good Morning, God! I was thinking of using photos of Sunrises or Rainbows for this morning’s blog. But it feels as if You have selected this small flower — blooming in a small crack between the concrete wall and the

Brussels Sprouts and the Business of Becoming

Good Morning, God! The thing about brussels sprouts, God, is that they KNOW when they are done. But for us humans it seems a lot more complex. Twenty-one is the mythical age of maturity. I was married at 20 and
