Good Morning, God!
Winter Solstice — Christmas — the Coming of the Light — aaah YES! You have not left us in darkness. You HAVE COME and YOU DO COME to Hearts who have made room for You.
I’m pondering the phrase Room for You. This photo was taken outside the Rewick Board Room at Central Union Church. That is where our Women’s Wednesday 7:00 a.m. Prayer Group meets. It is where we gather to “make room for You.” The GATHERING is important. We don’t just make room for You, God, we make ROOM for ONE ANOTHER! Hearing and being heard — we share Your Presence.
Hmmm. It comes to me that HEARING one another is a SACRED ACT. Interested, Caring, Focused Attention invites the Heart to Open and Speak. Ah! AND THAT IS HEALING! I say that as if I were surprised, God. And, I AM SURPRISED! Such unexpected power in such an “ordinary” activity!
Only, of course, that kind of listening is far from ordinary. I am blessed to have friends who HEAR me. I’m blessed to have Kit hearing and speaking with me. Blessed to pray (read: hear each other in Your Presence) with people.
One more thought, God, before I go walking around the block. Walking and talking — as I normally do each Thursday morning — seems to activate more of the mind. Or, perhaps it just activates slightly different parts? But the quality of the conversation seems somewhat deeper on a walk. Prayer comes in many forms, doesn’t it, God!
