All of this makes me think about Hope. Vaclav Havel said “Hope is not the conviction that something will turn out well, but the certainty that something makes sense, regardless of how it turns out.”
As I sat with my mommy, I remembered what a friend shared about when her dad was dying. A big no-nonsense nurse told her and her brothers and sisters: “You all stop pestering him and leave him ALONE! Dying is Hard Work.”
Nose down in the mud — accepting that — we find ourselves lifted up and loved. And, sent out to love others in Little Ways. Imperfect Ways. Now THAT is Good News!
Ah, to love is to experience a certain degree of anxiety — ducks or humans. It takes energy to keep anxiety and worries at bay. Energy and Prayer!
Please, God, I want a lot of folks to receive what Honolulu ’13 Conference has to offer. And I would REALLY LOVE it to have folks come from all over the world. They could come early to relax and then stay a few days after the three-day conference to let it all soak in — while they soak in the sun.
I am so thankful I gave Kit that “Love Gift,” God. Because it was a lovely service.
